Love God Greatly - Names of God Part 1: Through Thanksgiving & ChristmasSample

James urges believers to remain steadfast in their trust in the Lord despite the suffering they are enduring. James encourages them to seek the Lord for wisdom, specifically during trials, never doubting that the Lord will supply their needs.
When believers trust God’s love, God’s timing, and God’s plan for them, they can wait patiently for Him to do mighty works in their lives. Many times anxiety and doubt can lead believers to try to get ahead of God. Christians can find themselves out of the will of God, struggling to keep something that they were not destined by God to have at that particular time. A Christian’s focus must be on God’s love for her. By resting in that love, a Christian has the security of knowing that God has her exactly where she needs to be for her own good and for His purpose.
Are you struggling with anxiety or doubt because of a circumstance in which God has placed you? The solution is meditating on God’s love for you so that you can rest assured that God has only good plans for your life and that all things will work out for the good.
Father God, I thank You for wisdom. Lord, help me to remain steadfast in You even when I’m in the midst of trials. Help me to focus on You when my faith is wavering. Help me to remember that You give generously and liberally to all whom You love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

When it comes to the names of God it is important to recognize that we do not name God. He names himself. This is important because it shows that there is something specific he wants to reveal about himself in his names. He transcends time and space. He is exalted above all things and is incomprehensible. And yet he has condescended to make himself known to us in ways that we can understand. He has given himself names to help us see his character.
