God took the time to repeat Himself here, so let’s take some time to really do what this verse calls us to do—reflect on our lives. As you take this seriously by giving it careful thought, how can you begin to put God first in every area of your life?
Read through today’s words from Jesus and consider the ways you’ve tried to meet your own needs apart from God. In what ways have these efforts been successful? In what ways have they left you feeling empty?
Pray: Confess your deep needs to God. Can you trust Him enough to turn from building your kingdom to building His?
