Until the Spirit ComesSample

Speaking in Tongues: a Sign of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit
“I can say, through the power of the Spirit, that wherever God can get a people that will come together in one accord and one mind in the Word of God, the baptism of the Holy Ghost will fall upon them, like as at Cornelius’ house.” - William J. Seymour
As the early church advanced into new areas, God always produced obvious signs of the kingdom of God. The presence of the Holy Spirit was seen and heard, and is today still the agent that advances the gospel. The pattern of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is clearly evident in several passages as it is in this: that pattern is as relevant for us today as it was in the book of Acts. It is clear and powerful evidence that God’s kingdom is advancing.
Have you received the gift of tongues? If so, are you using that gift often in prayer?

About this Plan

Jesus ascended to heaven forty days after his resurrection. During that time He appeared to His followers, saying, “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high." Waiting can be difficult. Behind closed doors, praying and waiting for the gift of the Spirit… for ten days. God is up to something!
