IMPERFECTIONSample

Loneliness – Imperfect Company
There are a great many lonely people in the Bible. Job. Elijah the prophet, alone at the Cherith brook, fed by ravens (1 Kings 17:6). Jeremiah, “the weeping prophet”. Jonah, as he ran away.
Lonely people are part of God’s work here on earth.
David’s plea in this psalm sounds a bit presumptuous, but the whole psalm is written from a great trust in the love of God. Our loneliness is a reason for God to turn to us – because He loves us. Couple that with the promise that Jesus gives at the end of His last instructions to His disciples. He will never leave us.
Prayer: Dear Father, when I pray You are delighted to hear my prayer. Thank You for Jesus’ promise to be with us – by Your Spirit – to the very end of the age.
