Overflow In The Hard Paths

DAY 3 OF 7

Overflow In A New Place

Joseph is taken to Egypt and is sold to Potiphar as one of his slaves. There is something about Joseph though, that makes him stand out among all the other slaves and is soon, made manager of the household. That something, that Joseph seemed to have, was the presence of God in His life. The presence of God filled Joseph up with power even for the mundane, everyday jobs of a household slave. Isn’t that amazing?

Unfortunately, things begin to take a nasty turn when Potiphar’s wife begins to eye Joseph. She eventually attempts to seduce Him for which he turns and runs out of the house. The spurned woman then spins a tall tale to her husband and accuses Joseph of abuse and gets him imprisoned.

Had Joseph not been filled with the Spirit of God there was no way he would have had the presence of mind to escape the tempting clutches of his master’s wife and run out when he did.

Joyce Meyer says that ‘wisdom is the willingness to make choices now that you will be happy with later on’. The Bible tells us to ask God if we lack wisdom and he gives without holding back. Wisdom is a gift to those whose hearts are set on God and on discovering his will for their life. In order for us to navigate the complexities of the world we live in we need the wisdom of God to steer us in the right direction.

When life takes us into new and unexpected seasons, it’s only the wisdom of God that can help us find our way and live life to the fullest. No matter what new assignment God has called you into, he will make you stand out in a crowd because of the wisdom and excellence you will operate in. This will be the evidence of the overflow in you.

About this Plan

Overflow In The Hard Paths

Will you decide today to walk, work, love and serve from a place of the overflow? Will you ask the Holy Spirit to fill you up to overflowing so that when others see you they see a well watered garden or an overflowing spring whose waters never run dry, no matter what season it is?
