There's Hope For TodaySample

Is there anything quite so godlike as adoption? Isn’t there a beauty that is not often appreciated? I’m not praising adoptive parents for taking pity, though laudable it may be. Adoption is not an act of pity – not as I have observed it – it’s an act of love … and longing … and giving … and dreaming. Unless it is corrupted somehow, adoption is selfless and sacrificial.
How incredibly sad that adopted children are often asked about their “real Dad or Mom” as if adoption is something inferior or inauthentic? We would do well to never pose that question. God had only one begotten son and the rest of us are adopted! We are part of the greatest family tragedy of all time recorded in the garden and resulting in paradise lost. We were alienated from our Father and left as orphans in this world without inheritance. We were slaves to sin and without hope. We were the broken consequence of rebellion. But God’s love is an adoptive love. He welcomes the last, the least, the lonely, the losers… the lost. He offers more than status or citizenship. He offers real fatherhood, absolute fidelity, full provision, unerring guidance, and an inheritance that knows no boundaries. His arms and doors are open. This love is real!
