There is much falsehood in the world. It is foolish to believe everything that we hear. We need to make sure we measure everything against Scripture to make sure that what we believe is true. This goes for the books we read, the sermons we hear, and the philosophies the world holds. Everything must be tested against God’s Word to make sure that we honor God with our lives.

On our own, we are not strong enough or wise enough to discern the truth. Thankfully, it is not up to us on our own. God is in us, allowing us to have victory. Satan is crafty, but God is truth. The world may seem cunning and filled with the power of persuasion, but God is more powerful. He alone is righteous and He declares righteous all those who place their faith in Him. 

Lord, the world celebrates sin and tries to convince me to follow their lies. Fill me with Your wisdom to discern what is right and what is wrong, and give me the power to stand up for Your truth. Amen.
