Jesus is Grace in Action 

Jesus created a new story so encapsulating that it not only shifted people’s beliefs, but also changed the very texture of their lives. Jesus scripted this story step by step until the most important chapter unfolded at the cross and the empty tomb. Its freshness and originality, together with the earth-shattering impact thereof on God and people alike, ensured its long-term effectiveness. A timely story became timeless. Its simplicity was its success. No mimicry or mediocrity here, Jesus became the syllabus, the text, the pen, as well as the hand that held it. His death and resurrection paved the road of grace to heaven and back again. 

Old ways of doing religion demanded rigid obedience to strict laws and rituals. Well, Jesus brought an abrupt end to the old ways. He knew that the future of religion wouldn’t be secured on yet another replay of its past. He built a new road that’s saturated with forever-life. But wait, don’t get confused now. Jesus didn’t hand out life as if it’s some object amongst many that people could choose on the market square of religion. Jesus is definitely not a dealer in generic religious deliverance. He’s not selling grace, or giving it away to whoever is interested, as if it’s a tangible object that we can possess or control. We can never “own” Jesus-life or even talk about it separate from Jesus. On the contrary, this kind of life is about an intimate relationship with Him, it’s about growing in oneness and community with Him. Therein is the true beauty of Jesus’ forever-life. 

Jesus embodies everything that God stands for. He is the sole answer to the lack of grace in our ever-aging, post-modern, post-Christian, home alone, Exodus world. He is the abundant answer to all forms of UNgrace. Jesus is grace in action. He removes the guilt and shame from our lives. His love is the purest stain remover ever. He spreads the wonderful aroma of life, and a new passion deep in our souls to love all the works of His hands. 

By turning people’s bad Exodus into a new Genesis, Jesus restored God’s household here on earth. Jesus is the strategy, the map, the route and the answer to the question whether God has abandoned us. Believe it. Experience it. Stick with it.
