An Example of Submission
Some of us bravely tell God what we want Him to do, how He should do it, and when, but the pattern Paul outlines for the church at Ephesus looks much different. The Church does Christ’s work under His authority, not the other way around, and the pattern is to be lived out in a similar way in our homes. Choosing to submit requires faith, honor, and perhaps a little courage, but it is what God wants us to do.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, today I choose once again to submit to You. I confess that too often I want to do things my own way. I admit I have even occasionally wanted to tell You what to do. Like Job, I’ve asked too many ‘why’ questions, and not listened well enough. Forgive me, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
