Day 9: Sunday Morning
“I done been through this a time or two
I keep going back
But now I’m finally through
I’m like “if I was God
I’d be tired of you”
But He be open arms
Like He desire you
I’m like “wow”
Smokin’, sippin’, slippin’
Thought I lost my grip and wow
Pulled me back and told me I'm forgiven”
Why do I do the things I don’t want to do? This question has been asked for thousands of years. You aren’t the first one to ask it. And you aren’t the first one to struggle through it.
But every time you wake up, you get another chance. And the beauty of our God is that His mercy is unending. While we tire of making the same mistakes over and over again and it’s difficult for us to forgive our loved ones time and time again, God’s patience is not like ours. Scripture says God’s patience is immense. Not just “patient,” or even “large patience” but immense. His mercies are new every morning.
What a reason to praise God. The eternal, immortal, invisible and only God.
Prayer: God thank You for Your patience with me. Help me to grow and model my patience towards others after Your patience for me.
