BASICSSample

Before we dive in, it’s helpful to understand why spiritual practices or disciplines are important. They are important because they help us become more like Jesus. They help our hearts align with God’s heart. They help us to know God in a deeper way. They help us become better followers of Jesus and better representations of Jesus to the world. As Christians we should always be growing and learning. We will never “arrive”. Our pursuit of God will never be over. There are always greater levels God wants to take us to. Spiritual practices are a great way to deepen your relationship with God and walk in the fullness of life He has called you to.
As we get ready to start this study, let’s pray together. Lord, thank you for loving us. Thank you for saving us. Thank you for the opportunity to learn more about you through your Spirit and your word. Help us God as we dive into your Scriptures with the intent to know you more fully and to look more like your Son. Teach us, speak to us, lead us we pray. In Jesus’ name, amen.
