Seeing Jesus In The Jewish FeastsSample

Feast of Unleavened Bread: Jesus is our Righteousness
The night after the Passover Feast, the Israelites celebrated with the Feast of Unleavened Bread. With this feast, for seven days they were not to eat any bread made with yeast. The way leaven (yeast) spreads through the dough, making it rise, symbolized sin rising up in our lives.
Unleavened bread (matzah bread), looks as if it’s been pierced–just as Jesus was pierced for our sins. His hands, feet, and side were pierced, shedding His blood, and we put our faith in that blood. Unleavened bread is also striped, just as Jesus took the stripes on His back, bearing our sin and shame and sickness so we could be free. The Bible says that “by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
In 2 Corinthians 5:21, it says, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” When we receive Jesus, He is made sin for us so that we might be the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. We also see that we have a new nature. When we have Jesus and His righteousness inside us, we don’t have to be wicked and bitter–we need to be righteousness conscious–we need to be purged and set free.
Let Jesus set you free!

About this Plan

The seven feasts outlined in the Old Testament were not just significant for the Israelites, they are significant to us today because they are symbolic of God’s perfect plan. For believers today, these feasts represent freedom because Jesus came to set us free. As you go through this plan, allow Jesus to reveal Himself to you. When you feast on Jesus, you’ll be set free!
