God's Story: Part ThreeSample
Daily Discipline
- Pray.
- Before reading the main Scripture(s) for today, pray, and ask the Holy Spirit to speak life into you over the next few minutes.
- See it.
- Read the passage. What sticks out to you? What are your thoughts or questions? It may be helpful to highlight or underline words or phrases that seem important or even confusing to you.
- Slow it down.
- Read the passage again, but take your time. Now what sticks out? Is it something new? Is it the same as last time? It is also helpful to write down or type out your thoughts and questions.
- Speak it out.
- Read the passage one more time, but out loud this time. Now take just a few minutes and ask God what he is trying to speak to you. Expect that he will speak to you through your conscience, thoughts in your mind, pastors, teachers and even some of your friends.
- Respond.
- Thank God for always having time for you. Ask him to open your heart to continually hear from him throughout the rest of the day.
Exercise
As a follower of Jesus, you are redeemed through his blood. His grace covers all of your failures and empowers you to be conformed into his image. You are sealed with the Holy Spirit as God's own possession. God saved you from your former life, in a kingdom of darkness, and led you into his kingdom.
Your place in God's story is one of a kind. No one can tell the same story that you can. Today, find someone who you can share your story of redemption with. If you have a friend who hasn't accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior yet, share it with him/her!

About this Plan
Have you ever made a decision, only to eventually wish that you could take it back? So far, God's story has shown us that humanity is in desperate need of some do-overs! The only problem is that a do-over can't change a broken heart. As you will find out over the next five days, the only cure to a broken heart is a broken Savior.
