In My Boat: Trusting God in the Midst of the Storm

DAY 14 OF 14

Aye Aye Captain

Imagine going on a road trip with a friend whose driving skills you know are questionable. To boot, he doesn’t know his way to the agreed destination and he is not a big fan of Google maps. How would you fancy sitting back, expecting to have the greatest adventure of your life? It might make for a hilarious story but a most pitiable one, at that. Imagine getting lost or getting in an accident because you chose to rely on your friend’s very questionable driving skills.

This is the reality of most people today. They would wholeheartedly walk into a raging storm, ignoring the GPS directions that would have pointed them toward an escape route. They are reckless and stubborn, never one to accept help because they feel they know it all.

This is a trap! Trust me it is. Why choose to drive blind when you can have a trusted driver that knows every route of the journey?

It is important that you step away from the wheel and allow the One that knows the end from the beginning to take over from you. To trust Him with your whole heart and with total surrender giving preference to His voice as He tells you what to do in His time. This, for me, is the best life you can have on your life’s journey, one where you know that God will always keep you on track, no matter what happens. The circumstances may not look like ones that have been set to propel you to greater heights, but knowing that you have the best Man in the driver’s seat calms you.

Nothing can break you at this point! It’s peace, joy, and love all the way.

Prayer

Dear Father God,

I surrender to Your will because I know You will keep me on track to accomplish Your good and perfect will for my life.

Amen!
