5 Rewards of Your YESSample

5 Rewards of Your YES

DAY 5 OF 5

Reward #5: Fruit That Abounds

When I think of Heaven, I think of a lot of things I want to experience first.

Of course, the #1 thing I want to do is to SEE "My Savior First of All." (Thank you for that beautiful hymn, Fanny Crosby)! Obviously, I also want to see my Mom and Dad, as well as all my loved ones who have gone ahead of me.

However, there is only one thing I want to HEAR, and that is:

“Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord” (Matthew 25:21 NKJV).

That’s it—the long and short of it! Two words: "WELL DONE!" At the end of this life, I want to say, as Paul said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7 NKJV).

Nevertheless, the best part of saying "yes" to God is not the fruit that will abound for you, but the fruit that will abound to the glory of God.

You can, and should, enjoy the rewards of your "yes," both in this life, and in the next. However, there is one thing even more important than that: the harvest of SOULS.

Psalm 126:5-6 encourages us with these words:

"Those who sow their tears as seeds will reap a harvest with joyful shouts of glee. They may weep as they go out carrying their seed to sow, but they will return with joyful laughter and shouting with gladness as they bring back armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!" (TPT).

Nothing pleases the Father more than sons and daughters being born into the Kingdom of God.

The Bible tells us that God doesn't want anyone to perish; He wants all to come to repentance and be saved through Christ Jesus (2 Peter 3:9). This is what our earthly life is all about: getting to know, love, and serve God; coming into the place of our purpose; and then getting others to find life in the Lord Jesus Christ—and in turn, for them to find their purpose.

If you have said "yes" to God's call on your life, and have been in ministry for any length of time, you know it will cost you something. As I stated earlier in this series, it will cost you everything!

However, the reward of seeing lives changed, people restored, addictions destroyed, marriages healed, and the Kingdom of God advanced is worth it all. Seeing those kinds of results for our Lord Jesus Christ is worth:

  • all the long nights traveling;
  • being away from your family;
  • ministering while you are sick; and even
  • ministering when you feel that you need some ministry yourself.

The fruit of your "yes" is beyond comprehension.

You won’t even be able to fully realize how much fruit your life has produced for Christ until you get to heaven; until you see and hear of all the the lives that God transformed, using your "yes." Even though things might be hard now, seeing that fruit will be worth it!

In closing, I’m reminded of the Lord's exhortation in the book of Hebrews:

"So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised" (Hebrews 10:35-36 NLT).

And may I remind you also of 2 Corinthians 1:20:

"For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory" (NLT).

Friend, if you will say "yes" to God, He will reward you.

This list is not all-inclusive, but He will definitely give you:

  • Abundant joy and peace;
  • Kingdom advancement and the fulfillment of His promises;
  • Power to overcome;
  • Kingdom authority; and
  • Fruit that abounds and remains—not only for you to enjoy, but also for His glory!

Remember, though: it all starts with a simple "yes."

Will you give God your heartfelt, unequivocal, no-holds-barred, resounding "yes" today—and then spend the rest of your life advancing His Kingdom? If you will, stop and make your commitment to God right now!
