Resolving the War of Religion

Have you noticed how religion is a touchy subject? The word “religion” can cause disruption, confusion, and frustration for many people. Could it be that we have a problem with religion because we make religion about us? Is the issue we have with religion not actually about religion, but about us?

Does your religion have a “me” mentality? Religion that starts wars and causes riots is a prideful religion. Religion with closed fists causes fights. But religion that is wrapped up solely in the person of Jesus has never started a war. 

Jesus didn’t come to draw battle lines between people. He came to destroy sin. To conquer death. When your religion becomes more about Jesus and less about you, this is when transformation happens. This is when religion stops being a roadblock and starts causing breakthrough. Sin is the enemy, not people. Relationship with Jesus is the priority, not religiosity.
