Rise Up & Stand Firm—A Study of 1 Peter (Part 1)Sample

Therefore ...
Let’s dig into today’s text and discover some treasures.
Pray:
Holy Spirit, I love You. Please keep me focused and teach me today.
Today’s Goal:
Grow in our relationship with God and connect the “therefore” in verse 13 with what we learned yesterday. (Note: We see “therefore” in the NIV translation.)
Study Tip:
Be prepared to read over the same passage repeatedly. This will help you to explore all its riches. Consider looking at different Bible translations for comparison. Enjoy the process!
Read and Write:
Grab your notebook and quickly review yesterday’s study notes. Next, read through 1 Peter 1:13-21 and write down your observations. Consider:
- What is the reader urged to do?
- Do a word search and list repeating key words.
- Clarity: What word, verse, or passage needs more clarity? Mark those and consider doing a little more research.
- What important message comes before the “therefore” in verse 13?
- Write a brief summary of 1 Peter 1:13–21.
Reflect:
- What reasons are we given to be holy?
Apply:
- Based on today’s lesson, in what way will you rise up and stand firm?
