         <div class="p"><span class="verse v1" data-usfm="LUK.19.1"><span class="label">1</span><span class="content">Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. </span></span><span class="verse v2" data-usfm="LUK.19.2"><span class="label">2</span><span class="content">A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. </span></span><span class="verse v3" data-usfm="LUK.19.3"><span class="label">3</span><span class="content">He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. </span></span><span class="verse v4" data-usfm="LUK.19.4"><span class="label">4</span><span class="content">So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.</span></span></div><div class="p"><span class="verse v4" data-usfm="LUK.19.4"></span><span class="verse v5" data-usfm="LUK.19.5"><span class="label">5</span><span class="content">When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, </span><span class="wj"><span class="content">&#8220;Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.&#8221;</span></span><span class="content"> </span></span><span class="verse v6" data-usfm="LUK.19.6"><span class="label">6</span><span class="content">So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.</span></span></div><div class="p"><span class="verse v6" data-usfm="LUK.19.6"></span><span class="verse v7" data-usfm="LUK.19.7"><span class="label">7</span><span class="content">All the people saw this and began to mutter, &#8220;He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.&#8221;</span></span></div><div class="p"><span class="verse v7" data-usfm="LUK.19.7"></span><span class="verse v8" data-usfm="LUK.19.8"><span class="label">8</span><span class="content">But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, &#8220;Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.&#8221;</span></span></div><div class="p"><span class="verse v8" data-usfm="LUK.19.8"></span><span class="verse v9" data-usfm="LUK.19.9"><span class="label">9</span><span class="content">Jesus said to him, </span><span class="wj"><span class="content">&#8220;Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.</span></span><span class="content"> </span></span><span class="verse v10" data-usfm="LUK.19.10"><span class="label">10</span><span class="wj"><span class="content">For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.&#8221;</span></span></span></div>

And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.</span></span></div>

         <div class="p"><span class="verse v25" data-usfm="ACT.16.25"><span class="label">25</span><span class="content">About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. </span></span><span class="verse v26" data-usfm="ACT.16.26"><span class="label">26</span><span class="content">Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone&#8217;s chains came loose. </span></span><span class="verse v27" data-usfm="ACT.16.27"><span class="label">27</span><span class="content">The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. </span></span><span class="verse v28" data-usfm="ACT.16.28"><span class="label">28</span><span class="content">But Paul shouted, &#8220;Don&#8217;t harm yourself! We are all here!&#8221;</span></span></div><div class="p"><span class="verse v28" data-usfm="ACT.16.28"></span><span class="verse v29" data-usfm="ACT.16.29"><span class="label">29</span><span class="content">The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. </span></span><span class="verse v30" data-usfm="ACT.16.30"><span class="label">30</span><span class="content">He then brought them out and asked, &#8220;Sirs, what must I do to be saved?&#8221;</span></span></div><div class="p"><span class="verse v30" data-usfm="ACT.16.30"></span><span class="verse v31" data-usfm="ACT.16.31"><span class="label">31</span><span class="content">They replied, &#8220;Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved&#8212;you and your household.&#8221; </span></span><span class="verse v32" data-usfm="ACT.16.32"><span class="label">32</span><span class="content">Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. </span></span><span class="verse v33" data-usfm="ACT.16.33"><span class="label">33</span><span class="content">At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. </span></span><span class="verse v34" data-usfm="ACT.16.34"><span class="label">34</span><span class="content">The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God&#8212;he and his whole household.</span></span></div><div class="p"><span class="verse v34" data-usfm="ACT.16.34"></span></div>
