In this passage, we will read the Parable of the Great Banquet. We see a story of many people invited to this wonderful dinner and a number of people not able to make it. Then we see the command to go into the streets and invite more to join. There is still room… for you…for others. In the Gospel, Jesus shares the Good News with everyone He meets. In the rest of the New Testament, Paul, Peter, John, and more people continue to share the Gospel. And many times, they were rejected, but they kept going. How many times have your invitations to church been rejected or you were looked at differently because of your faith? What about the amount of times that you decided not to share for fear of being rejected?
This is something that I personally have to work through myself. See, the Great Banquet is eternal. There is still room, which means we should never stop inviting others and sharing the Gospel. There is still room, which means no matter what you have done or said, you are still welcome to the table. Step out in faith and let the light of Jesus shine through you today.

About this Plan

Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness again, but will have the light of life.” In this daily Bible reading plan, Illuminate, we study the teachings of Jesus found in the Gospel of Luke chapters 12-17. In these passages of Scripture, Jesus sheds light on the kingdom of God and guides us to live our lives in light of eternity.
