River Valley Church SOAP - Part 11Sample

John was Jesus’ cousin, who was a forerunner to him as Christ. John went throughout the region of Nazareth, asking people to turn from their sin, repent, and be baptized. Baptism had in both the idea of cleansing and consecration to a new identity or a new relationship. Water was used in ceremonial cleansing. The thought of starting a new, or being set apart is an illustration in the requirement. John baptizes Jesus and Jesus is immediately led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness of Judea, where he was tempted by Satan. Satan temped all of these temptations were given to questions the validated identity Jesus received at His baptism.
