Praise in the Midst of the Storm Sample
Anchored Attitude
"Attitude is everything" or so they say. Attitude is all about our approach to everything. Attitude can either make or break you in a storm.
Let's face the facts though. When we're stressed out, full of doubt, and fear and anxiety are warring within, we tend to toss our positive and peppy attitude out the window with the wind. We can become grouchy, snippy, and downright mean.
Perhaps, once having an optimistic outlook on life, the storm throws you into a tizzy and you are now not only pessimistic but are thinking about worst-case scenarios.
When you get the news that devastation is heading your way, it can hit you hard and rock your boat. You have a huge decision to make in that moment.
Will I allow the bad news to blow through me and toss my mind and emotions around like a small sailboat in the middle of a torrential typhoon, ripping apart my attitude?
OR...
Will I allow my faith to rise up and stir my soul? Will I hunker down, plant my feet firmly, throw out the anchor, and remain connected to Christ, the Rock of my salvation?
Will you begin to tell yourself...
If God is for me, what can be against me?
I will not be moved, I will not be shaken, I believe God is fighting for me!
He promised to never leave or forsake me. God isn’t going anywhere and neither am I.
I am resilient and I have resolve. I have fortitude deep in my soul.
I am strong in Christ. I will overcome. I will not be defeated or downhearted.
I am more than a conqueror. Greater is He that is in me than any storm that may come my way.
I have a hope that the best is yet to come; I have bright and beautiful days ahead of me.
I have anchored my attitude and nothing and no one will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it. And so it is with you. You are the captain of your attitude, as you control how you will spin the steering wheel of your soul.
Will you allow the storms of life to control your mind and attitude, or will you anchor your attitude to the Rock and not be moved? The decision is yours to make!
