5 Days of Christmas TruthSample

Isaiah 9:6 Reflections by Hasini Ganegala
“A child is born; a son is given”—a helpless thing—seemingly without any power, might, or anything worth paying attention to. This is how God, Jesus through whom we have our being—everything we touch, see, and breathe—came into the world. This is the level to which he went down to save us.
When we deserved the wrath of God, Jesus humbled himself to our level and shared our flesh. This is God's love and mercy at work. It reminds me of the length to which God went to give me life, show His love, and model what true lordship and kingship ought to be. It reminds me that love without humility and sacrifice is worldly and will not prevail. In a world with identity politics and much deception, Jesus’s life centers me and brings me back to the gospel—our anchor and strength in these evil days.
Love humbled himself; we ought to humble ourselves.
