Cultivate a Heart of Righteousness!Sample
Not only do we have to prepare to cultivate hearts of righteousness we also have to PLANT. In the parable of the sower, the seed represents the word of God. It is this seed of the word that we are looking to plant deep in our hearts. Planting this seed involves regular exposure to the word of God. Hearing the word preached on the Lord’s Day, working through a Bible study with our small group, and, of course, consistently reading the Scriptures on our own are all ways to plant the seed of the word in our hearts. And as God’s word is planted in responsive hearts, it begins to grow. As we are conformed to it, it begins to produce righteousness in our hearts and godly character in our lives.
Ask God for His grace to help you. He is your Shepherd. Remember it is He who enables you to hear, and it is He who causes the growth. Be patient. His timing is often not our timing.
Plan to spend time in God's Word daily. If you miss a day or two, don’t be discouraged, and definitely don't give up. Just pick up where you left off. You don’t have to be perfect in order to be persistent! Keep in mind that you may not see immediate results, but put your trust in the Lord and in His Word. He will do it!
About this Plan
Do you want to grow in Christ? Ultimately, God is the one who cultivates our hearts. He alone is the giver of life and growth. However, we have an essential role in the process.
