Go Tell It on the Mountain Three-Day Reading Plan by Zach WilliamsSample
Day 3:
I was a lonely seeker
I sought both night and day
I asked the Lord to help me and
He showed me the way
When I get ready for Christmas, there’s a long checklist of things to do before I can celebrate the holiday. Have the rituals and preparation become the goal of Christmas? Has “creating” the “holiday” become our main focus? If so, is that where we find the meaning of Christmas?
There’s nothing wrong with putting effort in to making Christmas a meaningful experience for you and your family -- not at all.
But, when we find our value in the preparation, what are we really celebrating? The day, the gifts, the food, or -- Jesus?
Jeremiah 29:13 says that when we seek Him, we will find Him. So, in the midst of our holiday preparations, let’s seek Him! Let’s seek Him in the midst of time with family or time alone. Let’s let the meaning from Christmas come from Him and it will be all the more special. Whether you’re celebrating with family, friends, or alone, and whether you are on the mountain or in the valley, Christmas means that we are all loved so much that Jesus came to us! No matter how you choose to celebrate, seek Him and be reminded that you are loved.

About this Plan
Christmas is coming. Join me as I prepare for this special holiday and reflect on the meaning of Christmas, what it really means to ‘go tell it on the mountain,’ how actions and words can work together, and how we can celebrate Jesus’ birth long after Christmas has come and gone. -Zach Williams
