Day 16: The Wait Is Worth It

We learn about a man named Simeon. We don’t know much about his story, but from Scripture we learn that he is a man who loved God. He got a promise from God that he would not die until he met the Messiah. Imagine receiving that type of promise? How would you feel?

Simeon was so moved by the Holy Spirit that he obeyed and went to the temple. He saw Jesus and took him in his arms. The promise that God has given had come to pass. He immediately began praising God for this moment. We don’t know if he shed a tear or anything, but if you and I were in his shoes, what would we feel? Simeon could have given up hope on that promise. He could have wondered how long and when it would come to pass. But he didn’t. You see, because of His love for God, he waited. He didn’t give up hope. Simeon knew what God spoke would always come to pass.  

All this shows us that we should not give up on the promises of God that he has given us. The wait can seem long, but it’s worth it. The blessings of God are worth it. The promises of God are worth it. So, don’t give up. Trust His timing and plan. It may not seem perfect to us, but to Him they are perfect.
