Walk Through the Bible 365 - AprilSample

God’s Standards
During the time of Judges, a few generations after the death of Moses, the Israelites had already lost their understanding of the commandments of God. Micah in the hill country of Ephraim uses silver coins to make a carved and metal image and installs this as his household gods. This he does in spite of the Israelites being strictly forbidden to worship idols. Why was this so? - everyone did what they felt was right - the word of God was not being followed. Today, we need to take heed that it is not enough to believe in Christ - we need to follow his word - that brings abundant life to us. Otherwise we can so easily stray away.
Prayer: Lord, let us be followers of your commandments and precepts as given in the Bible. Let us not live our lives based on our own wisdom doing what we feel is right in our own eyes. We thank you for the standards you set and we want to live according to those standards. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
