Holy 90 (The Four Gospels)Sample

What we read this week:
Luke 19: Zacchaeus and The Triumphal Entry
Luke 20: God and Caesar and the Sadducees on resurrection
Luke 21: Destruction of the temple predicted, the End of the Age
Luke 22: Plot to kill Jesus, Passover, Judas’s betrayal, Peter’s denial and Jesus beaten
Luke 23: Jesus and Pilate, Crucifixion and the burial of Jesus
Luke 24: Jesus resurrects and ascends to Heaven
John 1: John’s prologue and John the Baptist
Notable verse: Luke 24:46-47 — “He also said to them, ‘this is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead the third day, and repentance for forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.”
Encouragement for you: The beginning of John’s gospel is a beautiful testimony to the triune God whose purposes will be not thwarted and whose glory will be made known to the world.
Something for you to consider from the reading: Why did Jesus have to leave?
