Daily Bible Reading – February 2021 God’s Word of LoveSample

February 9
Introduction
At a wedding in Cana, Jesus performs his first miracle (or sign) by changing water into wine. John’s Gospel records seven miracles or signs, and each one points to Jesus as the true Messiah, the Son of God.
Today’s scripture reading
John 2:1-12
Today’s key verse: John 2:11
Jesus performed his first miracle in Cana in Galilee; there he revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
Reflect
What does Jesus’s mother say to him (verse 3)? How does Jesus respond (verse 4)? When Jesus says his “time has not yet come” he was referring to the time of his death and being raised back to life when his true glory as God’s Son would be recognized. What does Jesus tell the servants to do? Is their action one of faith? Why or why not?
Pray
Lord Jesus, you have revealed your glory and I know that you are the true Messiah, the Son of God. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
Prayer concern
Those preparing for marriage
Tomorrow’s reading
Luke 4:1-15: The devil tempts Jesus.
