Carrying our cross causes us to change our position, to re-position ourselves in a way that aligns to that which matters most to Him.
Jesus’ disciples were positioned next to Jesus—they went where He went. They were beside Jesus in moments of worship and in prayer, recipients of blessing and participants in healings.
Sometimes following Jesus places us before crowds, amidst feasts, along lepers, and in the presence of kings. It also places us at the foot of the cross.
Jesus kept company with both sinners and saints, with those that both agreed and disagreed with Him.
Are you willing to go wherever Jesus goes? Position yourself close by Jesus.
QUESTIONS
Consider the unique position in which you may find yourself today. What does it look like to be a follower of Jesus in your current circumstances?
Do you consider yourself a fan of Jesus or a follower of Jesus? A celebrant and observer or one who represents Him to the fullest of your ability?
