Everyday Life in Revelation: Part 3 HeavenSample

Everyday Life in Revelation: Part 3 Heaven

DAY 2 OF 5

We see a strong revelation of the glory of God and His authority in play. We see the power of the gospel. This bears out throughout all the New Testament, but especially as we come into contact with this passage.

There are four living creatures. One looks like a lion, one an ox, one like a man and one an eagle. Each possess six wings and they all are covered with eyes. As we think on these creatures, there is a direct relation to what Ezekiel saw and recorded in His book.

John is using symbolic language to describe these incredible creatures that were made for God’s pleasure and His glory. Our language cannot fully describe their power and splendor. John tells us that the chief duty of these four angelic beings is to worship God. The proclaim that “He was and is and is to come.”

As these beings worship, so do the 24 elders. They bow, or better put, fall down. They cast their crowns, their authority to the feet of God. They experience God in His majesty and holiness. This points to the fact that one day we will experience Him in perfect holiness and complete majesty.

Are you prepared to experience God in this incredible way? Each Sunday, as we gather together, we have the chance to begin and continue our preparation for worshiping the living God in His splendor and majesty. Our worship on Planet Earth is imperfect and incomplete, but one day we will be present before the one true God. We will never be bored, we will never be distracted when we are in His presence. Reflect on and anticipate what that experience will be like when we first enter into it.

About this Plan

Everyday Life in Revelation: Part 3 Heaven

Revelation is not just a blueprint for the future. It spoke to the church in John's day, and it speaks to us in our day. Revelation has a message and meaning for us every day. This is a 5-day study exploring the throne room in heaven when John received a series of visions for the church to treasure.
