When you make your first connection to God, He puts His Holy Spirit in you. The Holy Spirit is God. God in spirit form. God comes to live in you. 

The first time you ask God to fill you with His Spirit you will experience a power on the inside, together with peace and often a new prayer language. This experience we call ‘the Baptism in the Spirit’. Baptism means ‘to completely immerse’, so ‘Baptism in the Spirit’ means that you will be completely immersed in the Spirit and receive power from God, to live effectively as a Christian. 

In addition to a clean heart and a new life you will begin to experience strength on the inside which is God in you. 

If you ask Him He will completely fill you and empower you, enabling you to live as God intended.

It is with the Holy Spirit that you can have a daily and meaningful relationship with God. As a Christian, your daily companion is the Holy Spirit. You can talk to Him and you can experience His resources for you: strength, wisdom, encouragement and talent. 

You can regularly ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit. Much like how you regularly take your car (if you have one) into the petrol station to refuel, in the same way we need to regularly refuel with what the Holy Spirit can give us. He gives you His power and resources to live your new life for Him. His power will enable you to overcome habits, obstacles and to live out your new life.
