Living for real in your work environment

Work can be the sphere where we proclaim God's glory, even without words, simply by what we do and how we it. But reality is often different. In the workplace, we are constantly faced with new challenges - whether this concerns our colleagues, our boss, the number or the complexity of our tasks, the associated stress, or the great pressure of responsibility. 

While working, you might start to ask yourself, who you are doing this for? Do we work to make a living? Do we work to earn enough to retire later? Do we work to take responsibility and to move up the career ladder?

When Jesus owns our lives, we get a new perspective on our work. Today's Bible passage tells us that we should not view our work as a service to people, but as a ministry to God. This new perspective changes everything in our work. It provides new strength, motivation, perseverance, and joy. For we now have, in addition to our earthly boss, a divine, heavenly boss who means well with us. He is the perfect employer for us, the dream boss!
