God is sovereign and good and in control. He is not surprised. He is bringing about His plan for the world, through the Lord Jesus. 

At this time in history, we need that reminder more than ever. We can trust God. Amazingly, the book of God - the grand saga of life and love and pain and beauty - has an all-consuming victory at the end. Evil will be done away with, and the Messiah, the Lord Jesus, will reign forever. There will be no more tears, or fighting, or funerals. There will be singing!

It's a time to hope, today, because Jesus is reigning and the story isn't over.
