Daily Bible Reading–March 2021 God's Word of PrayerSample
March 10
Introduction
Solomon concludes his prayer and blesses the people. He admonishes the people to be faithful to God and to obey God’s laws and commands. Today’s reading concludes with a description of Solomon offering sacrifices to the LORD and dedicating the Temple.
Today’s Scripture Reading
1 Kings 8:54-66
Today’s Key Verse: 1 Kings 8:57, 58a
“May the LORD our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us or abandon us; may he make us obedient to him, so that we will always live as he wants us to live.”
Reflect
The completion of the Temple fulfills two important promises that God made to the nation of Israel. The first is the promise to David that his son would follow him as king and be the one to build the Temple (2 Samuel 7). The second is that Israel would have a time of peace after entering the promised land (Canaan) and establishing a central place of worship (Deuteronomy 12:5-19). How do you experience God’s promises?
Pray
Holy God, thank you for the ways in which you keep your promises to your people. Make me to ever be mindful of your will that I may live and serve you according to your ways. Amen.
Prayer Concern
Houses of worship being dedicated
Tomorrow’s Reading
Jeremiah 32:1-15: Jeremiah buys a field.
