The Aetherlight Episode 1 Family PlanSample

Learning to Trust
Of all the possible responses to God here, Abraham’s is perhaps the most surprising. In the past he’s laughed, argued or modified God’s plan to suit himself. Now, when the stakes seem highest, he simply obeys.
It’s no wonder he is held up in Hebrews 11 as a hero of faith. What Abraham does though is reflect the faithfulness of God. He trusts because God has proven trustworthy, time and time again. That’s not to say it’s an automatic response; it is still something he must choose to do.
Something to think about while you are reading today’s passage:
How easily do we make those kinds of choices?
Something to talk about with players of The Aetherlight:
When players in The Aetherlight find out that Alexander is about to surrender Irving, because the Scarlet Man asked him to, there’s a sense of urgency to it. The inclination is to stop him! It’s a great opportunity to discuss what trust looks like, and how we experience the faithfulness of God.

About this Plan

The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance is an exciting new steampunk game with a difference - It's an allegory of God’s amazing story in Scripture! Episode 1 follows Alexander as he is called by the Scarlet Man to establish the Resistance in Aethasia. These studies tie into the game and the biblical story of Abraham to help young people and their families see their part in the story of God.
