The Aetherlight Episode 1 Family PlanSample

A Question of Justice?
These next 5 studies refer to the quest ‘Have a Blast on the Isle’ in The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance.’
Start your Aethasian adventure at The Aetherlight!
God’s justice and mercy can be hard to reconcile. In a place as self-destructive as Sodom and Gomorrah, an extreme response seems justified, yet Abraham challenges the idea of ‘cleaning house.’ How would you respond in Abraham’s place? Something to think about while you are reading today’s passage: Abraham actually seems to leap to conclusions - again! God is going to see how bad things are, and Abraham is assuming that will mean devastation. He dares God to be merciful, but is there any indication that God didn’t intend to be? What assumptions about God’s plan would you have had?
Something to talk about with players of The Aetherlight: In the Isle Assault quest in The Aetherlight, players help blow up the fog boiler that is polluting the Isle and No Man’s Landing. During the mission Alexander asks the recruit to detour to rescue his nephew. It’s a good opportunity to discuss mercy, and perhaps what the Resistance stands for.

About this Plan

The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance is an exciting new steampunk game with a difference - It's an allegory of God’s amazing story in Scripture! Episode 1 follows Alexander as he is called by the Scarlet Man to establish the Resistance in Aethasia. These studies tie into the game and the biblical story of Abraham to help young people and their families see their part in the story of God.
