The witness of Jesus' followers
Why do you believe in Jesus?
Actually, a better question might be, how is it possible that you believe in Jesus?
Do you realize that one of the main reasons you can have faith that Jesus is the Son of God, and that he lived a perfect life, was crucified, and resurrected on your behalf is because only a handful of people in the history of the world witnessed his resurrected body?
None of us who are alive today are eyewitnesses of Jesus Christ, yet millions of people all over the world today profess to believe in him. The reason that's possible is that the testimony of a few has created the testimonies of billions throughout history. Do you see the power that your testimony has?
When you acknowledge that Jesus lived, died, and rose again, that He is the King of heaven and earth, and that this was what God purposed all along, you make the same confession that Luke penned thousands of years ago. When you experience Jesus' love and power, and you go on to tell about it, you take part in the long history of God's people who have become his witnesses.
So let's try one practical exercise today: At the end of the day, get out a journal or a piece of paper and reflect on whether or not the words which you spoke today have given testimony to the fact that you have experienced the love and power of Jesus.
About this Plan
