Swhw Bible Reading Plan: April

DAY 21 OF 22

Top Takeaway from Somer Phoebus:

I’m going to be honest; that was a tough section of Scripture to read.

Do you hear the way God is describing the people that have turned away from Him? One phrase stuck out to me…

“They did not pay attention.”

God sent prophets, leaders, signs, blessings, provision, and the list goes on, but it wasn’t enough for them. They did not pay attention.

Dear Christ follower, let’s learn from this! Let’s lean in here and let’s pay attention. close meticulous, focused attention on Who God is and what He wants from us in this life.

How?

You’ve got a good start here…

Be in God’s Word everyday.

It’s really hard to be distracted by the world when you’re overwhelmed by His words.

Have an eternal view.

Your life is not about right now, it’s about eternity. All that you do, all that you strive for, everyone you love and serve, all of it should be motivated by Heaven because only the things that matter there are the things that should matter here.

Talk to God ALL the time.

Prayer is the word used to describe this, but if that word ever adds a challenge that prevents you from approaching God, talking will do. He just wants to hear from you. Crazy, right? But it’s true. And the more you talk, the more your intimacy with the Lord will grow, and before you know it, you’ll find much of your day is spent in a quiet dialogue with God Himself.

It’s uncomfortable to read about God’s wrath, but it’s necessary. It shouldn’t cause you more fear, instead, it should strengthen your faith!

Love God, follow God, and PAY ATTENTION.

Father, today I want to refocus my eyes only on You. Please help me to be so in tune with what You’re doing in and through me that I don’t miss a single thing. God, I promise to obey when You ask me for something, to walk away from the things You tell me I don’t need, and to point the people You put in my life to You! My purpose is wrapped up in Your plan for me. Show me what it is and then help me to faithfully walk it out. I love You, God. Amen.

About this Plan

Swhw Bible Reading Plan: April

Using God's Word as the foundation for our conversation, every devotional is written by women in the trenches of faith, family and work; aiming to live for the glory of God and the good of others. There are enough devotions included for a typical 5-day work schedule. We recommend plugging into your local church for the remaining two days of each week.
