DAY ONE: The Great Rescue - GRACE!

When diving into this five-day transformational devotional, there is something that I want you to keep in mind. When we devote time to ourselves, we may discover stress, worry, guilt, or fear. But we can exchange all those negative reactions for an opportunity to be rescued, renewed, recharged, and recalibrated. I want you to know that this is not just any exchange; this is an exchange of pride for grace. When Eve broke the one rule that God had given, she exchanged partnering with God for the serpent’s deceiving temptation. In Genesis 3:13 (ESV), God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” God immediately recognized Eve’s disobedience and that the relationship between Himself and Eve was in jeopardy. Her identity had been exchanged for a lesser version of who God had called her to be. When Eve replied, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate,” Eve’s confession positioned her to be rescued from guilt and shame. As a result of Eve’s vulnerability, God was invited to help Eve take action over what had drained her soul. This is exactly what I want for you.

Allow this devotional to be an invitation to look within and discover the areas where you want to experience an exchange between you and God. Recognizing that you need rescuing is not meant to overwhelm you, but rather to awaken you to the reality that there is no one more suitable for the job than God. As you commit to a constant journey of inner growth you will repeatedly find yourself at a place where you'll need God to restore and re-establish your desires for His glory. You’re a work in progress and also a coveted masterpiece. Be gentle with yourself as you grow.

Moment of Reflection: Let God speak to you about what needs rescuing in your life so that you can encounter an exchange of the negative for a life of empowering grace.

Prayer: God, I thank you that your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I thank you that you have called me into this radical moment of transformation through grace. Guide me during the process of renewal and give me your perfect peace. Amen.
