Move with Praise: “The Defense Stance”

Listen Queens, praise and worship will confuse the enemy. 

Praise is one of your greatest gifts to God and one of the best secret weapons against the enemy because as we worship, our hearts and minds are on the Lord and we are better able to fight off the enemy’s tricks and schemes. Praise is a sacrifice of our hearts, giving him our best, even when we don’t feel like it. The more we praise and worship God, the more we’ll be filled with His love to share with others. The more we are filled, the more we are equipped to conquer life’s daily challenges. 

Praise reminds us of who God is and what He has done. As we praise Him, we submit ourselves to the One who is worthy and express devotion for the One whose love is unfailing. When we need to run our defensive playbook, we start with praising the most High! Praising God through the storms not only blesses God, but encourages us and will bless those around us who witnesses His unfailing love and faithfulness. 

I’m sure you can admit that praise is good, but very few of us feel any responsibility to praise God when things aren't going well. We may not feel joyful, but scripture tells us that one of the fruits of the spirit is joy. If we have the Holy Spirit, we have joy. We may not feel that joy, but we can choose to lift our hands and speak forth praises to God by faith. 

Learning to praise God even when everything is going badly will change our hearts, make us much more effective, and cause our faith to abound. When we give God praise, it shifts our focus away from the problem and onto the solution. By praising Him instead of our situation, it puts everything back in its proper place.   

Praise and worship is contagious. When our hearts are turned to God and we worship Him even through dark seasons, others will notice something different about us. They will wonder how can we praise God while we’re struggling and not achieving our goals. 

But when they hear the good news of how God kept you despite of your shortcomings, they will be astonished by His continued grace and mercy. If you are going into battle, would it not be nice to have a praise team and group of prayer warriors on the battlefield with you to help with your sneak attack?!

Prayer:  Lord, give us the grace to praise You in spite of what might happen to us. We praise You today with our hearts and songs. We praise You for Your faithfulness. We praise You for Your great power and love. Lord, help us to worship You in confidence that You are the answer to any questions we have. Help us to lift You up instead of letting our circumstances bring us down. Father, thank You that You never waste a thing. Thank You for Your presence. We ask for Your spirit to fill us, to draw us closer to You, and to reveal Your purposes through us as we set our eyes on You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
