Huddle Up for the Nations

DAY 4 OF 5

Step In, Step Out

Ready:

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8 NLT

Set:

Jesus wants His disciples to go and make disciples! What a privilege it is that the King of the Universe wants us to do something. He proclaims first that ALL authority has been given to Him, and therefore we should go under His instruction. We are called to make disciples, baptize the new disciples and teach them to obey everything Jesus teaches us. But first, we must obey Him!

We obey by deliberately proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We choose to act like Paul in Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.” The best place to start is to witness where we are; and then to seek guidance in other places God would have us go, even abroad.

We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the world, to be a witness for Him in all places at all times. We have many opportunities to serve in the name of Jesus across the world. It is a fantastic experience to serve people in a different culture in another part of the world while sharing the Gospel through our words and actions. Engaging, equipping, and empowering coaches and athletes in a foreign country while also learning from them can be challenging, yet incredibly rewarding for us. It can be an exciting time of growth.

He also reassures us that we won’t have to do this alone. He will be with us! That is so comforting because He is joining us in our work and service.

When you want to obey the Great Commission to go, you should first go to the Lord in prayer. Because all authority is given to Jesus, we can depend on Him to show us the way and to guide us along the way. Everything begins with prayer before we physically Go. We encourage you to seek guidance and discover what Go means for you.

Go:

  • Have you gone on an overseas mission trip in the past? What did God reveal to you?
  • Is there anything holding you back from obedience in this area that you need to give to God?
  • What "go" opportunities are available through FCA or other ministries in your area?
  • Would you commit to pray for the next month on what “go” means for you?

Workout:

Romans 10:15; Isaiah 6:8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31

Overtime:

“Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son to die on the cross for our sins, and raising Him again that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life. Thank You for the Great Commission to go make disciples of all nations. Help me to be obedient to that call in my life--first at home and in my church and community and then to the world.  Show me, Lord, where you would have me Go. Thank You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
