The Power of the Spoken Blessing

DAY 5 OF 8

As we discover the role of a Godly father, it is natural to experience feelings of disappointment when it seems like your biological dad or caregiver has fallen short. You may realize by now that it’s all a well-crafted trick of satan to ensure the blessing is not released over young men and women. However, the devil has been caught out and will have to repay seven-fold for all you lost.

Disappointment, then, can be described as the gap between our expectations and reality. When you are disappointed in the outcome of any situation, it can cause deep-rooted sorrow and unhappiness; triggered by the non-fulfillment of one’s hopes or dreams.

When disappointed, you always wish things were different, and you can quickly become a victim of emotions and fail to realize God's blessings around you. Do we forget that life does not have to be perfect to be good? Generally, once you accept your current situation and let go of disappointment, you are mentally set up for success. You can embrace that which you cannot change and change the things that are in your power to do so. There is only One who can heal your heart from disappointment – therefore, it is best to take it to the Lord in prayer.

Draw Closer in Prayer

Father God, I realize that I have been harboring disappointment in my heart, and it has kept me bound for too long. I had a particular ideal for my life, but it seems like nothing is working out how I planned. I recognize that I did not consult you in my plans but have been doing things my way. I repent of being independent and acknowledge my need for You to be my guide. Please forgive me, Lord, for serving you on my terms since my heart was hardened by disappointment. I am thankful for the blessings in my life, and I choose to accept the things that are not in my power to change. The rest, I believe by faith that You will open supernatural doors for me to flourish. In Jesus Name, amen.

About this Plan

The Power of the Spoken Blessing

The spoken blessing refers to the fact that our words carry power. When someone speaks positive words (of blessing) over you – at your birthday party, for example – it is far more than mere well-wishes. The spoken blessing carries such immense power; it triggers a supernatural release of identity, purpose, and direction for abundant life
