How Do You Respond to Jesus?

DAY 13 OF 15

Worshiping Jesus as God

Jesus is both God and man, but for most of His time on earth He was not recognized as such. People did not understand that He was God, or they did not want to accept the truth. Even His own disciples had difficulty grasping this mystery. When Jesus showed His divine power by stilling a storm, they asked themselves: “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” (Mark 4:41)

Only after Jesus’ resurrection, did His divinity become clearer to people. The women who met Him first took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. Sometime later, when Jesus had appeared to His disciples and then returned to His Father in heaven, “they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.” This is the right thing to do. We should worship no one but God; since Jesus is 100% God, He is worthy of our praise.

Do you believe that Jesus is both God and man at the same time? Do you worship Him as God, or do you think He is just a wise teacher or a great prophet?

About this Plan

How Do You Respond to Jesus?

Jesus Christ is the central figure of Christianity. Millions of people worldwide worship Him as their Savior, but others fiercely reject Him. Some people are prepared to die for Jesus’ sake, others live as though He does not exist. This reading plan describes how different people groups responded to Jesus and challenges you to rethink your own response to Him.
