How Do You Respond to Jesus?Sample

Jesus’ siblings did not believe in Him
Jesus was born of a virgin, Mary. Later, she had other children with her husband Joseph. These were Jesus’ half-brothers, so they were raised in the same family. But living with Him for all those years did not open their eyes to His true identity!
In John 7, we read how they make fun of Jesus by exhorting Him to show His miracles in Jerusalem during the Feast of Booths, in order to win disciples. Jesus replies that His time has not yet come. Mark 3:21 records that Jesus’ family thinks He is out of His mind and tries to seize Him. Only after His death and resurrection do His brothers come to faith.
Growing up in the same home with Jesus is no guarantee for faith. A Christian upbringing isn’t either. Just “knowing about” Jesus doesn’t save you; you need to believe that He is the Son of God who has become human to reconcile humanity with our Creator. This faith is “the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1), and these things are not revealed by “flesh and blood”, but by God Himself.
Ask God to open your eyes for who Jesus really is!

About this Plan

Jesus Christ is the central figure of Christianity. Millions of people worldwide worship Him as their Savior, but others fiercely reject Him. Some people are prepared to die for Jesus’ sake, others live as though He does not exist. This reading plan describes how different people groups responded to Jesus and challenges you to rethink your own response to Him.
