God is almighty
When God created the world, He just had to speak and it all came to be. And He has not lost that power since. He is still almighty; He carries and rules the world.
On the one hand, this knowledge can make us tremble. Our God is really great, and we are just little human beings. His omnipotence fills us with awe. It makes David sing: "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!" (Psalm 8:1)
It is also enormously comforting to know that God is in control, not Satan or humans or some abstract fate. The world is ruled by its almighty Creator. He has a purpose, and nothing can prevent him from carrying on his plan. But this can only comfort us if we believe that God is good and wise and trustworthy. Do you believe that?
