Who Is God?Sample
God is King
God has created the world, and therefore he is its King. In Psalm 47, people sing “loud songs of joy”, for “God reigns over the nations; God sits on his holy throne”. He is worthy of all praise.
As a King, the Lord protects his people against enemies – in the Old Testament he often protected Israel against surrounding nations, but he still protects believers against spiritual adversaries or people who want to harm them. He rules the world, even though there is so much sin going on.
As a King, God is also a judge and legislator. People need to keep his commandments, and he will hold them accountable. Do you accept his commandments as ground rules for your life? If so, you will know for yourself the benefits of God’s endless wisdom and righteousness. If not, you will ultimately face his judgment, when he will judge all people who rebel against him.
At the end of time, God’s kingdom will fully come and all evil will be removed. Are you longing for that day?
