Who Is God?Sample

God is the Creator
The first thing we read in the Bible, is that God created the heavens and the earth. That is a huge claim, which is not obvious to modern people. Many reject this claim, or try to interpret it in such a way that it matches their worldview. And indeed, it is difficult to understand how certain scientific discoveries fit in the greater picture the Bible presents to us. There are no easy answers to all of our questions.
But this confession of God as the Creator of heaven and earth is of key importance. Throughout history, it has been part of church doctrine. It is the basis underlying our worldview: this earth was planned and made, it did not come into existence spontaneously. And it has a purpose, it is not a random thing ending nowhere.
Confessing God as the Creator of everything also includes confessing him as our Creator. Do you believe that you were planned and made by God, and that He deserves your love and obedience?
