Fervent: Fight Fear With Faith Sample

Whatever we are experiencing today, we should not be surprised that it is occurring. After all, Jesus Himself predicted that we would experience great troubles (earthquakes, famines, pestilences, etc.). Jesus did not leave us clueless about how to handle such situations, rather He gave us a clear instruction - “Stand firm” (v. 19). When the rest of the world is panic-stricken, helpless, and baffled, the Church is called to stand upright and hold our heads high (v. 26 – 28) because we know that our King is coming to bring freedom and life! The Lord has called us to be alert and prayerful so that we can overcome these situations with His strength and one day stand in His presence (v. 36). So let us strengthen ourselves in the Lord like David did (1 Samuel 30:6), plant our feet firmly in His promises, hold our heads up, and stand tall because He is with us.

• Strength to stand firm during these trying times.

• His peace to fill us even when life goes haywire.

• Fearless courage and unshakeable faith in our Lord’s Word.
