Seeds of Spring: A Woman's 40-day JourneySample
Planting and Tending Your Garden
SEED OF TRUTH
Read Ephesians 1:11-14.
What have you been given in Christ? What do you learn about your purpose? Whose plan is always accomplished or whose will is done?
PLANT THE SEED
Quietly recite today's focus verse to yourself. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it throughout the day.
Ephesians 1:11
"In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will."
WATER THE SEED
You have been given what cannot be taken away. You can rest and feel safe always, knowing God is good. He works everything - all things - according to His plan. You can take a deep breath, relax, and not worry because you are His. You are in Christ and He is in you.
Think for a moment about God's work in your life and how He has brought you to Himself, taught you in His word, and drawn you to this devotional study. If you are in Christ, He has given you everything you need to grow in the understanding of His word and in His righteousness. He has given you Himself!
What one thing can you do during the rest of this study to make the most of what He has given to you? What if you were to think on the "seed of truth" all throughout the day? You could copy and paste it in a text or e-mail to yourself. Reflect on this seed of truth instead of worrying or dwelling on earthly things. Water it and help it grow.
BEAR THE FRUIT
He works all things according to His plan.
CLOSE IN PRAYER.
Ask the Lord to bring to life all that has been planted in your heart today.

About this Plan
The Bible often uses seasons to illustrate God's work in us. This 40-day women's devotional from Thistlebend Ministries uses a garden as a metaphor for growing in Christ. Each day you will receive a "Seed of Truth" (Scripture) and directions on how to "Plant the Seed" (take it to heart) and "Water the Seed" (apply). Be excited! The Lord will grow a beautiful garden of His character in your heart, overflowing with the fullness of the Lord. Ideal for busy moms, single women, and college students.
