Luke: A 10-Day Devotional Reading PlanSample

Who Is This Jesus?
Who exactly is Jesus? The crowds in Galilee want to know, and they speculate. Immoral leaders like Herod wonder too, and even Jesus’s inner circle of twelve disciples isn’t completely sure. Until now, Luke has been revealing Jesus Christ a little at a time, but this week we get a much fuller picture of who he is. We see it not only in the miracles Jesus does but also in his personal conversations and, of course, in his teaching. And as we understand more about who he is, we discover much more of what it means to follow him by faith.
Reflection:
Consider the three aspects of genuine discipleship Jesus outlines in 9:23: “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” What does that entail for you at this present time?

About this Plan

Over the course of 10-days, read the book of Luke alongside passages and questions from Lydia Brownback, and see how the Gospel of Luke presents Jesus as the promised King of kings, showcasing how Jesus’s earthly ministry is good news to the downtrodden, the hurting, and the outsider.
